Porticus Legal is a law firm based in Guimarães, founded by three partners who chose to work together on a shared project. It serves everyone, individuals and businesses alike.
The name comes from the portico, the covered entrance that gives shelter and access to a building. That idea guides our work: to be a clear and reliable point of entry for anyone who needs legal advice.
Careful analysis of each situation and sound legal reasoning behind every decision.
Plain language and direct explanations, so that clients always know where they stand.
Direct follow-up by the lawyers handling the case, with availability and professional confidentiality.
Porticus Legal assists clients with interests in several countries, with particular attention to Brazil and Africa. We work in Portuguese, French and English, with the same standard of rigour in each language.
The firm includes a lawyer admitted to the Brazilian Bar, São Paulo section (OAB/SP), which makes it easier to follow matters connected with Brazil.
Support for clients and operations connected with the African continent.
Portuguese, French and English are the working languages of the firm.
Each matter is handled individually, with the approach the specific situation requires.
Divorce, parental responsibilities, maintenance, estate division and other family law matters.
Advice on tax matters and representation before the Tax Authority and the tax courts.
Company formation and governance, drafting and review of contracts, and legal support for business activity.
Representation in court and in alternative dispute resolution, including breach of contract, compensation and debt recovery.
Legal matters concerning credit, security and dealings with financial institutions.
Defence and assistance in criminal and regulatory offence proceedings, at every stage, with attention to economic and corporate crime.
Partners: Sandra Cruz, Vasco Portugal and João Gonçalves.
